The Adventurous Trip to Chicago!
We are 28 weeks this week and things have been going well. The holidays and winter break made
for a busy time period for this mama. My doctor recommended at 24 weeks that I stop the anti-
nausea cocktail I had been taking. That was probably one of the roughest times of my pregnancy
thus far. I could not keep anything down after stopping the medicine and I felt miserable. After a
week had passed, my body seemed to adjust to me not taking the medicine because I am no longer
sick. I was afraid to eat and drink, but now things are much better.
During this time, we decided to take a babymoon. A babymoon is a
vacation for you and your special someone before the baby arrives.
Given that our lives are soon to change, we thought that it would be a
great idea. I will share pictures from our trip in a later post. While it
ended amazingly, getting to our many destinations in a short period of
time was cray cray. Being pregnant and running through the airport is
no fun. Also, when you are running late, you will learn that you get car
sick when your anxiety kicks in.
Then you miss your flight and the next flight due to weather and you miss all of the non-refundable events you had committed to. That was us. However, we truly made the best of it. We had some amazing food, saw some beautiful sites, and was able to spend time with some very special people. I encourage all my baby mamas to make sure you take time for yourself before the new baby arrives. I hear things change big time after their debut.
Fast forward to now…we have an appointment today and will be seeing the doctor every 2 weeks
until we reach 9 months. At that point, our appointments will recur weekly until the baby’s birth.
