Continual Learning
There is a certain strand of self-esteem that comes from learning in a structured way. It does not matter if you learn by the means of an online course or in-person training. Yet, when we think about learning, we are often focused more on our children’s growth than our own. Consequently, many fail to realize the power of continual learning. It has been proven to not only boost one’s earning capacity but one’s mood, emotional security and mental resilience.

Distance Education
Right now, the trend of online learning is sweeping through every nation. It’s actually never been easier to learn from home or “on the go” in a way that’s convenient to everyone. Today, you can be sitting on a train with your smartphone and learning a new language with apps like Duolingo or even doing an online degree courses.
There’s a popular saying that states the “more you earn the more you learn.” And if you’re an entrepreneur this couldn’t be more important.
The Educated Entrepreneur
There are a variety of external resources that entrepreneurs need to launch a successful business. For example, a seed enterprise investment scheme, the truth is that success (or failure) is often not down to a lack of resources but rather a lack of resourcefulness… and the best way to become more resourceful is by expanding your mind and learning as much as you can. This self-expansion won’t just make you a more resourceful entrepreneur either. It will make you a more confident one.
That said, you don’t have to be an entrepreneur in order to find benefit in continual education. Whether you’re looking to learn a creative skill or craft, a new way to make money whilst working from home around your family commitments, or a chance to tick something off your bucket list (i.e. obtain a master’s degree), the online learning climate is absolutely oozing with opportunities to exercise your brain and learn something new.
The Power in Achievement
There’s power in progress, and it feels good to be achieving things. It gives us a psychological boost in the form of an endorphin rush and a chance to celebrate our achievements with loved ones. There’s nothing more affirmative and empowering than taking on a challenging course and completing it.
What’s more it’s good to have hobbies. And, just like you should encourage your child’s hobbies and interests, you should do the same with your own. Often, we sacrifice our hobbies when we become parents as we simply become too busy and consumed with the day-to-day management of family life. Yet, having some “me time” where there is a focus on your own personal development is an extremely healthy way forward as the self-esteem hit you’ll get from learning something new and then mastering that subject is a great remedy to several common mood ailments.
Another benefit of expanding yourself with continual learning is that you are providing a great role model to your children. They will ultimately relate more with their intellectual growth and challenges.
In summary, education is a great way to expand your mind, increase your earning potential, be a great role model to your children, improve your self-esteems, self-worth and self-confidence. There’s a sense of personal power and pride that comes from continual learning. With the many online learning opportunities that make this education so convenient to access, now would be a great time to immerse yourself in your own continual learning program.
