5 Helpful Tips for New Bloggers: Make Money with Your Blog!

Write Content Worth Reading

Without great content, it will be difficult for you to maintain and achieve a loyal audience to your blog. The web is a place that people visit for more information about their concern or interests. Perform google searches on topics you may be interested in writing and see how much literature is available on that topic Also, you may be able to do some Pinterest stalking and see what pins or categories are being repined or liked the most. These basic exercises can help you identify your niche, the need for information that you want to share, and people that may be interested in connecting with your material.

How to Make Money with Your New Blog: 5 Amazing Tips

Make an Offer that is Hard to Pass Up

Many people love FREE. However, regardless of the price, people are willing to INVEST in your product if it is incredibly useful. Having something to offer can improve traffic to your site and interest in your product. You could organize your thoughts and tips into a user-friendly spreadsheet. On the other hand, you could create a short and simple ebook on your favorite topic. If you are truly an expert on a specific issue and you have a wealth of information to share (too much for one post), consider hosting an online class or webinar.

TLC (Time, Love, and Commitment)

Blogging is not my full-time occupation, but I cannot help but think I should be making full-time income on my super awesome posts. The time investment has been the biggest shock for me. I believe that if you want full-time results you have to put in full-time effort. At least as a newbie anyhow. You need time to promote your content, create your content, and update your content. I struggle with this component. I believe the amount of time, and love you can commit to your blog will make you stand out among the best.

Be in Tune with the Dynamics of Your Site

I am learning that analyzation of site speed, audience behaviors, traffic times, etc., are key to knowing how well your blog is doing and how you might improve. Every time I log onto my site, it seems to load fairly quickly. What I did not know is that someone accessing my site from California would have to wait at least 17 seconds for the page to load. If I had to wait that long, I would probably think that something was wrong with the site. You do not want your visitors to think that. Now that I know this, I am actively trying to change settings to optimize the speed of my site. This is one example, but I encourage you to find a feature on your site that you can either improve or use to your advantage. If most of your traffic occurs in the evening, go ahead and start scheduling your blog posts and social media posts around those times. Using these tools are definitely helpful in the success of your site.

Invest in your Skill

You may be an awesome cook, but how good are you at sharing your recipe in words. You may be an amazing mommy blogger, but how good are you at optimizing your images appropriately for your site.  Blogging is multi-faceted and you have to know how to navigate through many aspects. We are so lucky to have bloggers willing to share their wisdom in these areas in an online format. If money is not an issue, hire a freelancer to help. However, if your pockets are tight I encourage you to seek out educational opportunities in which you can learn about an area that you must manage for your site.  I have listed some of my favorite bloggers and educational sites below. Of course, they are super affordable because at $.18/month, I am not spending much!

  1. Totally agree with the TLC point that you make! I think bloggers underestimate the time that it will take to start a blog, maintain it and actually grown it. Great point!

  2. Love your ideas and especially anything to do with Pinterest since that’s my more favorite of all Social Media platforms! Pinned some on my boards. Thanks!

  3. Great tips. When I first starting blogging I had no idea just how time-consuming it will be. But I love it, so over time I definitely became better at organising my time. It can still be overwhelming sometimes. There is so much to learn as well. It’s like a constant learning curve for me.
